Review of Yuma
First of all it should be noted that this fabulous film was produced by Aaron
Spelling and as we all know the late Spelling never did anything by halves and
that includes Yuma. The story revolves around U.S. Marshal named Dave Harmon
(portrayed by Clint Walker) who happens into Yuma located in Arizona Territory
just in time to kill a man who turns out to be the brother of a local rancher.
The rancher in question is somewhat of a bigwig in the local area.
Meanwhile another brother is taken into custody by Walker. As the film goes on,
the remaining brother is killed by a villain during the night and the crime is
pinned on Walker. After the rancher hears about the deaths of his brothers he
hurries back into town from the trail ride he was on when the killings occurred.
Of course, no self-respecting Western would be complete without a little
romance. Even with all the commotion going on Walker finds time to romance the
owner of a local hotel. In the end there is a huge showdown that delivers
everything you would expect of a great western.
While there is plenty of action and adventure to satisfy male viewers female
viewers won’t find it hard at all to look at the rugged handsome face of Walker
as he tries to bring everything to rights. This is one western that you’ll enjoy
watching time and time again. Be aware; however, that because there are some
gunfights and violence it’s not really a family type film.
