Review of Chase Step by Step
If you’re a fan of classic martial arts movies, you’ll be sure to love this
particular film. It features a relatively simple plot. There is no personal
vendetta or revenge, like in many other movies. Instead, the plot of the movie
features a hero and heroine who are on a mission to deliver a specific box. As
it would turn out, word gets out what they’re up to and there are other people
who want to have the box.
There are some really neat characters in this movie as well as several cool
villains. The knife and sword specialists are also pretty neat. The stunts are
really terrific and will leave you in awe. Unlike a lot of other similar movies
there are no super powers, but the kung fu stunts are really amazing and
graceful. Be aware that there are no sub-titles but because the plot is so
simple you really don’t need them.
The fact that the kung-fu is practically continuous throughout the movie, which
is nice. If you’ve never heard of this movie, do be sure to watch it if for no
other reason than the fact that Hsu Feng stars. She is very probably one of the
most elegant and beautiful of the femme fetales of this particular period in
film history. She actually appeared in four of King Hu’s classic films. She
later went on to produce films such as Red Dust after her acting career was
basically finished.
